Rajshahi:Speakers at a recent discussion emphasized the importance of using modern technology to showcase Rajshahi's history, heritage, archaeological sites, and natural beauty to both domestic and international audiences.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussion, organized on World Tourism Day, was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. The event highlighted the necessity of utilizing digital technology and artificial intelligence to provide tourists with swift and accurate information regarding attractions, transportation, accommodation, and services.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, who attended as the chief guest, remarked on the role of tourism in promoting economic development, job creation, and cultural heritage. He noted that digital advancements offer new opportunities in the tourism sector, enabling tourists to access necessary information and services with greater ease.
The meeting was presided over by Rabiul Islam, Unit Manager of Parjatan Motel, Rajshahi. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali, Additional Superintendent of Police ATM Mainul Islam, and Superintendent of Police (Acting) of Tourist Police Rajshahi Region Chandan Chandra Sarkar participated as special guests.
Preceding the discussion, a colorful rally was conducted with the theme "Future Tourism through Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence." It began at the Deputy Commissioner's office, paraded through the main roads, and concluded at the starting point. Participants included representatives from the district administration, tourism-related institutions, law enforcement, and various other professions.
