RAJSHAHI: Various political, socio-cultural, and volunteer organizations, alongside educational institutions including Rajshahi University, have organized extensive programs to commemorate Martyred Intellectuals Day. The observance aims to honor the martyrs and express condolences to their bereaved families. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the day's activities include placing floral wreaths at Shaheed Minar, hosting a photo exhibition, conducting public gatherings, and holding discussion meetings. Candle lighting ceremonies at mass graves will also be part of the day's events. The observance will commence at 10 a.m. with floral tributes at the martyred memorial plaque at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC). Following this, a discussion will be held at the DC office conference hall to emphasize the day's significance. Rajshahi City Corporation is also set to conduct a discussion meeting at the city bhaban conference hall to pay tribute to the martyred intellectuals. Meanwhile, Rajshahi Unive rsity has planned a series of events, including floral tributes at Shaheed Minar, a discussion meeting, a milad mahfil, and a probhat ferry. The university's Shaheed Smrity Sangrahashala will be open to visitors in honor of the day. In addition, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi, will observe the day through similar programs, each organized separately.
