Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds across various districts in the country, as a seasonal low-pressure area lies over the South Bay. This weather pattern is expected to persist for the next 120 hours starting from 9 am today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Meteorologist Shahnaj Begum of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department indicated that rain or thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely in a few places within the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, one or two locations in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may also experience similar weather conditions. The release also mentioned a slight rise in both day and night temperatures across the country.
The Met office’s outlook for the next five days suggests that rainfall activity may intensify towards the end of this period. In Dhaka, today’s sunset is expected at 6:23 pm, followed by tomorrow’s sunrise at 5:31 am.
The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 36.7 degrees Celsius in Khulna, while today’s minimum was 20.6 degrees Celsius in Nikli, as stated in the release.
