Rain or Thunder Showers Predicted for Next Five Days: BMD

Dhaka: Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country while rain or thunder showers are likely for the next five days, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted this noon. "Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Sylhet division," the Met office release said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. It said a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

The Met office recorded a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius at Baghabari in Rajshahi division while the minimum temperature was 18.0 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur division. The sun sets at 6:07 pm today and rises at 6:08 am tomorrow in the capital, the release added.
