Public Hearing Scheduled to Discuss Natural Gas Pricing for Fertilizer

Dhaka: A public hearing with interested parties on the proposal of re-fixing the natural gas price in the fertilizer category will be held on October 6, according to officials. The hearing will commence at 10 am and continue until 5 pm at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) situated in the city’s New Eskaton area.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the hearing aims to discuss the proposal put forward by several entities, including Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla), Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited, and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited. These organizations have proposed to re-fix the price of natural gas in the fertilizer category.



A notice issued by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) invites interested individuals, institutions, or organizations to submit their written opinions to the commission before September 30. Participants are also requested to register their names with the commission by September 28 to take part in the public hearing.



The notice further states that registered participants can present analytical information and related documents regarding the gas supply and distribution proposals during the hearing. Copies of the proposals for re-pricing natural gas in the fertilizer category are available for collection from the commission during office hours. Additionally, all relevant documents can be downloaded from the commission’s website. Interested parties are encouraged to either attend the hearing or send appropriate representatives.
