Prof CR Abrar to Swear in as Adviser Tomorrow

Dhaka: Professor Chowdhury R Abrar will take oath as a new adviser of the interim government tomorrow. The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held at Bangabhaban at 11 am, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, CR Abrar is expected to take on the role of education adviser, a position currently held by Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud. The ceremony will be attended by key figures, including Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, along with Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi.



Prof Abrar, who will assume the role of education adviser, is the Executive Director of the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU). He has an extensive academic background, having taught International Relations at the University of Dhaka for four decades. His educational journey includes studies at the University of Dhaka, the University of Sussex, and Griffith University in Australia.
