Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Dhaka Residential Model College, his alma mater, urging students to actively participate in nation-building by maintaining cleanliness and planting trees.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his visit to the college in Mohammadpur, the Prime Minister addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in making Bangladesh clean and livable. He highlighted that the government alone cannot achieve these goals without public involvement.

The Prime Minister called on young people to keep their surroundings clean and to raise awareness about environmental health. He reminded the students of the 2024 mass uprising, noting that collective efforts, rather than a single political party, led to its success. Rahman stressed that the youth have already shown their capability to enact significant changes through unity and must continue to contribute to the country's development.

Expressing concern about air pollution in Dhaka, Rahman pointed out the increasing health risks it poses, especially to children, and stressed the importance of tree planting to mitigate the issue. He reiterated the government's initiatives to create a cleaner and greener nation, underscoring that these efforts require the active participation of the youth.

In his message to the students, Rahman said, "You are the future. I have two requests for you… first is to keep the country clean and the second is to plant more trees. This is your country, and the responsibility for it rests with you."

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, and Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon were also present at the event.
