Jashore: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today declared that the people of Bangladesh cannot be controlled through scare tactics and emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining public peace.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rahman, who is also the ruling BNP chairman, made these remarks at a public rally at the Eidgah ground. He highlighted past sacrifices made by BNP leaders and activists, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling electoral promises to change the country’s fate. Rahman reiterated that the ultimate source of BNP’s power is the people of Bangladesh, and the party aims to complete the unfinished work of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman for the people’s welfare.

Rahman criticized previous governments for not executing initiatives started by BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia over the past two decades. He stated that BNP has resumed these efforts to benefit the country’s people. He called on citizens to collaborate in building the nation, asserting that BNP prioritizes genuine work over superficial gains.

The Prime Minister also addressed the public’s trust in BNP, as evidenced by their electoral victory on February 12. He urged the people to identify those falsely labeling BNP as fascist collaborators and promised that justice would be served for those responsible for past violence. Rahman highlighted the government’s priorities, including education for women and vaccination programs for children, along with healthcare access, job creation, and support for farmers.

Addressing daily challenges faced by women, he announced plans to provide LPG cards to alleviate cooking difficulties. He also emphasized the BNP’s commitment to implementing the July Charter signed with political parties.

Rahman urged vigilance against those spreading confusion and called for unity to advance the nation. The rally, organized by Jashore district BNP, was chaired by its President Syed Saberul Haque Sabu and featured speeches from BNP Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum, Joint General Secretary and Water Resources Minister Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, State Minister Forhad Hossain Azad, and State Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit.
