President Abdul Hamid on Sunday expressed deep condolences over the boat sinking incident in Panchagarh’s Karotoa.
The President prayed for forgiveness and peace for the souls of those killed in the accident and speedy recovery to the injured.
Alongside, Hamid expressed deep grief over the death of Md Abdur Rahman, a prominent Awami League leader of Mithamoin,the birthplace of President Mithamin.
Abdur Rahman passed away at his residence last night at 2:30 pm due to old age.
He was 95 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by numerous devotees including two sons.
In a condolence message, the President said that the late Abdur Rahman served as the president of the Awami League in the former Mithamain Sadar Union for a long time. As a dedicated worker of Awami League, he has played a significant role in strengthening the organization in the area. His death is an irreparable loss to local politics.
The President sought forgiveness for the late Abdur Rahman’s soul and expressed his deepest condolences to his bereaved family.
