President Seeks Increased Investment from Lao PDR, Kenya, Zambia, and Cyprus

Dhaka: President Mohammed Shahabuddin today sought more investment in Bangladesh and the expansion of bilateral trade from friendly countries across the world. There are significant opportunities for expanding cooperation with countries such as Lao PDR, Kenya, Zambia, and Cyprus in various sectors, including trade and investment, climate change, energy, and ICT, he stated.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President made these remarks after receiving credentials from the envoys of the four countries, who are concurrently accredited to Bangladesh, in separate ceremonies at Bangabhaban. He emphasized the vast potential for collaboration and mutual benefits in strengthening these ties.



In addition to trade and investment, the President highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in education, skills development, and skills mobility. He also pointed out the potential for collaboration in industries like pharmaceuticals, jute and jute goods, ceramics, readymade garments (RMG), textiles, tea, and seafood, which could further bolster economic ties and development between Bangladesh and these nations.
