Dhaka: Principal Information Officer (PIO) Md Nizamul Kabir today emphasized the need for making government services more accessible to the public through the simplification of processes, especially in the context of the current information technology era. Speaking at a workshop titled “Implementation of IT-Based Service Simplification System,” held at the PID conference room at the secretariat, he highlighted the importance of creating public-friendly services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the PIO noted that service simplification is an ongoing process. He outlined that several initiatives have already been undertaken to streamline IT-based services provided by the Information Department. These services, including information bulletins, photos, features, news trends, and news briefs, are being made available on the department’s website promptly to ensure that media workers and other service recipients can access important news swiftly.
The PIO further mentioned that government services can be simplified by adhering to existing guidelines. He stressed that with proper planning, the steps involved in delivering services to the public can be reduced, thereby enhancing efficiency.
The workshop featured a presentation of the main article by System Analyst of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Md Mahbubul Kabir Siddiqui. The event was conducted by Senior Deputy Chief Information Officer M. Javed Iqbal and attended by officers from the Department of Information and Regional Information Offices.
