Sylhet: Power supply will be temporarily suspended in several key areas of Sylhet city on Tuesday due to transformer repair, renovation, and transmission line development work.
According to United News of Bangladesh, a press release issued on Monday by the Executive Engineer of Sales and Distribution Division-3 of the Bangladesh Power Development Board, Sylhet, stated that electricity will be cut off in areas under the Lalabazar feeder. Affected areas include Telibazar, Badikona, Bhalki, Bhorout, Lalabazar Nijgaon, Tengra, Betsandhi, Munshirgaon, Munshibazar, Farhadpur, Kararpar, Gangapar, Monokupa, Alamnagar, Chhomipur, and surrounding localities, with outages scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday.
The press release further noted that the power line will be considered operational during the shutdown, and if the work is completed earlier than expected, electricity supply will be restored immediately. Authorities have apologized to customers in the affected areas for the temporary inconvenience and have sought their cooperation.
