Manikganj: Police arrested the Manikganj Poura Awami League leader in a case filed with Manikganj Sadar Police Station last evening. The individual taken into custody was identified as Zahidul Islam Khokon from the village of Joyra under Manikganj Pourashava, who previously held the position of Religion Affairs Secretary of the Manikganj Poura Awami League.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, SM Aman Ullah, confirmed the arrest of Zahidul Islam Khokon last evening, August 12. The arrest is linked to his involvement in the attack on the Students People Anti-discrimination movement in the Manora area in 2024. This incident led to a case being filed against him at the Manikganj Sadar Police Station.
OC Aman Ullah further informed that Zahidul Islam Khokon will be presented in court today, following the completion of the necessary legal procedures. The authorities are taking the required steps to ensure that the case proceeds through the judicial system.
