Dhaka: Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter stated that the sacrifices of martyrs and the injured during the historic July Mass Uprising have led to the emergence of a new Bangladesh. “The new Bangladesh is the gift of the martyrs and injured of the July Uprising, and it should be our daily commitment to protect this country,” she remarked, emphasizing the importance of building a new nation in their honor.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farida Akhter made these comments while serving as the chief guest at a discussion held at the Mirpur Girls Ideal Laboratory Institute to commemorate the July Mass Uprising Day 2025. She highlighted the country’s political resilience, noting that Bangladesh remains a place where injustice cannot prevail for long. “If any dictatorship tries to rise again in the future, we will take to the streets once more,” she asserted.

Farida Akhter also discussed the significance of food security and public health, particularly the role of protein-rich foods in ensuring proper nutrition. “Good health and nutrition cannot be ensured without consuming fish, meat, milk, and eggs,” she noted, stressing the need for a balanced diet.

The discussion was led by the institution’s Head Teacher, Zinat Farhana. Other speakers included Managing Committee President Md Mokchedur Rahman Abir, Principal Dr Mostari Ahmed, and Joint Coordinator of ‘Mayer Dak’ Md Mushfiqur Rahman.
