Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today called for announcing the election date by signing the charter based on consensus. "It should not take more than a week to publish the reform proposals submitted by the political parties to the Reform Commission on which they reached consensus," he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the political parties need to sign a charter and announce the date of the elections based on the consensus, Amir Khasru added. He made the call while briefing reporters after attending a meeting of the BNP Liaison Committee with Gano Adhikar Parishad at the BNP Chairperson's political office in the capital's Gulshan area.

BNP National Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, party vice-chairman Barkatullah Bulu, and several BNP leaders were present on the occasion. President of Gano Adhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur, along with several leaders from his party, also attended the meeting.
