Police Takes Preparations for Ensuring Peaceful Celebrations of Durga Puja: DIG

Madaripur: Police have taken all-out preparations for ensuring safe and peaceful celebrations of the five-day long Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu Community, which begins tomorrow. ‘We are completely prepared for peaceful celebrations of the Durga Puja,’ said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallick after visiting the Sri Sri Radha Govinda Temple in the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DIG emphasized that Durga Puja is not just a religious festival but also a symbol of religious harmony. He expressed his hopes for a peaceful joint celebration of the festival. Mallick, who has personal ties to the area, having grown up in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur, shared his childhood memories associated with the temple and urged the community to reach out to him should they encounter any issues during the celebrations.



‘It is my duty to maintain the law and order in Madaripur as it falls under Dhaka Range,’ Mallick stated. He assured complete cooperation from the police in enhancing security at the Puja Mandaps and implementing necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted celebrations of Durga Puja by Hindu devotees.



The occasion was also attended by Madaripur district police superintendent Mohammad Naimul Hasan and Shibchar Upazila Executive Officer Ibne Mizan, among others.
