Khulna: The inaugural ceremony of the ‘KUET Police Outpost’ was held today on the campus of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). The event took place this afternoon, with KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Masud and Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan serving as chief guests.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ceremony commenced with a tribute to the memory of late Architecture Department student S.M. Sayem Ferdous. KUET members expressed deep grief over his passing, and special prayers were offered for his eternal peace and to show sympathy to his family.

Due to the solemn mood, the inauguration was kept brief and simple. The chief guests inaugurated the ‘KUET Police Outpost’ by cutting a ribbon, without any formal speeches. They also unveiled the nameplate of the under-construction police outpost building located at the intersection near the IT Park.

The event was attended by distinguished guests from the university and police administration. Following the inauguration, a doa mahfil was conducted by Mufti Jubayer Hasan, the Imam of the KUET Central Mosque, to pray for peace, security, and prosperity for the university, along with eternal peace for the deceased student.

Participants at the event expressed their hope that the establishment of the ‘KUET Police Outpost’ would enhance campus security, uphold law and order, and improve overall student service activities.
