Dhaka: Police arrested five alleged members of a dacoit gang in the city’s CRB area last night. The arrested individuals are identified as Md Sakib, 24, Md Hossain, 20, Shahid Hossain, 22, Abu Taher, 28, and Sabbir Hossain, 19.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, OC Md Abdul Karim of Kotwali Thana reported that police apprehended the five suspects while they were planning a robbery targeting vehicles and pedestrians at the CRB Sat Rastar Matha area in the city. The gang was known for roaming the city and the district in private cars, seeking out opportunities to commit robberies.
During the arrest, police recovered a Ramada (local weapon), knives, and a gold ring from the suspects.
