PMO driver dies after falling on staircase of govt colony

A government employee died after falling down the stairs of his home on Monday.

 

The deceased was identified as Farooq Ahmed (55), a driver assigned to the Prime Minister’s Office. He was residing at the Motijheel AGB Colony with his family.

Laila Begum, the wife of the victim, said after completion of his duty today, Farooq returned to AGB Colony and was coming to his flat up the stairs, when suddenly he felt sick and fell.

 

Falling on the stairs inflicted a serious head injury on Farooq and he became unconscious. Later, his family members rescued him from the spot and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital at around 3:30 pm, she said.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem, said Inspector Bachchu Mia of DMCH police camp.

 

It is to be noted that Farooq Ahmed was supposed to retire from his government job next month.
