Dhaka: A day after taking the oath of office, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to address the nation this evening. The announcement was made by Information Minister Zahiruddin Swapan, who confirmed that the address is scheduled for around 6:30 pm.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman was sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of the country on Tuesday after his party achieved a landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election on February 12. The party secured 209 out of 297 parliamentary seats, marking a significant electoral triumph.
The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by President Mohammed Shahabuddin, who administered the oath of office and secrecy to both the Prime Minister and the new cabinet members at the South Plaza of Parliament. The new administration comprises 25 ministers and 24 state ministers, featuring several new faces.
As part of their initial duties, Prime Minister Rahman and the newly appointed cabinet members paid tributes to former leaders Zia and Khaleda. This gesture signifies a nod to the party’s legacy and its historical roots.
