Mymensingh: Two people, including an army personnel, were killed and 15 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on the Sherpur-Mymensingh highway in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased were identified as Rezaul Karim, a 35-year-old truck driver for the Bangladesh Army, and Abdul Baset, a 50-year-old bus driver. Rashedul Hasan, the officer-in-charge of Phulpur Police Station, reported that the accident occurred at the Balia intersection when a Sherpur-bound bus collided head-on with a truck belonging to the Bangladesh Army, resulting in 17 injuries.
The drivers of both vehicles died on the way to a local hospital, further highlighting the severity of the collision. The incident has caused significant concern among local residents and authorities, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
