Trishal: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the three-day Nazrul Fair organised on the Nazrul Academy premises in Trishal, marking the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The event took place on Saturday evening, drawing attention to the celebrated works and life of the revered poet.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the Nazrul Fair following the inauguration of the national programme dedicated to the poet’s birth anniversary. During his visit, he explored various stalls at the fair and took part in viewing a special photo exhibition titled ‘Drohher Kobi, Praner Kobi’. This exhibition highlighted significant aspects of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s life and his contributions to literature and culture.
The Ministry of Cultural Affairs is hosting the three-day event at the Nazrul Academy in Darirampur, Trishal, a location deeply connected with the poet’s early years. The fair serves as a tribute to the poet’s enduring legacy and his influence on the nation’s cultural landscape.
In addition to attending the fair, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who is also the chairman of the ruling BNP, engaged in discussions with BNP leaders from Mymensingh city and its north and south units.
