Saidpur: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday evening inaugurated a free Wi-Fi service at Saidpur Airport as part of the government's initiative to improve public services and expand digital connectivity at major public places across the country. The Prime Minister launched the service while returning to Dhaka after completing his visit to Dinajpur.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said the service was inaugurated by scanning a Wi-Fi QR code at the airport. He stated that under the government's initiative, free internet services will gradually be introduced at all airports and other important public facilities and establishments across the country.
As part of his election pledge, Shibli mentioned that the Prime Minister is introducing 'free public internet' at major public places across Bangladesh, allowing people to access the internet at railway stations, airports, and other key locations. Free Wi-Fi services have already been introduced at Cox's Bazar Airport, Rajshahi Airport, Dhaka Airport Railway Station, and Cox's Bazar Railway Station.
Shibli added that the service will help people easily use the internet to share information, communicate online, and access travel-related services. As part of expanding digital public services, he noted that the government is extending this technological facility across the country.
