Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today personally drove through different roads under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to inspect the city's cleanliness as part of his government efforts to make Dhaka a cleaner capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony stated, "The Prime Minister personally drove through different roads in the northern part of the capital this afternoon to see the cleanliness situation on the ground. His vehicle crossed Shyamoli around 6:10 pm." The Prime Minister began his journey from his Gulshan residence at 4:05 pm and was behind the wheel himself.
During his inspection, Prime Minister Rahman traversed through key areas including Shyamoli, Bijoy Sarani, Rokeya Sarani, Mirpur-10, Kachukhet, and Shewrapara. He returned to his Gulshan residence around the time of Maghrib prayers after a two-and-a-half-hour tour of the city roads.
Rony highlighted that the Prime Minister has consistently emphasized his vision of transforming Dhaka into a clean city, which motivated his hands-on approach to assess the cleanliness situation personally.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, DNCC Administrator Md. Safiqul Islam Khan Milton, BNP Special Secretary Belayet Hossain, PM's Private Secretary Md. Mehedul Islam, and Assistant Private Secretary Abdur Rahman Suny, who were all present in the vehicle during the inspection.
