Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of famous singer and filmmaker Hassan Abidur Reja Jewel.
In a message of condolence, the premier said the death of a talented artist like Jewel is an irreparable loss to the cultural arena.
She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Jewel died of a cancer in the city’s United Hospital at 11:35am today at the age of 56.
