Pickup Van Helper Dies in Gopalganj Highway Collision

Gopalganj: A pickup van helper lost his life in a tragic head-on collision involving a truck and a pickup van on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Muksudpur upazila early this morning.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased has been identified as Masud Sheikh, aged 35, originally from Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur district. The unfortunate incident unfolded around 7:30 am near the Daserhat Sheba Green Line Filling Station, as reported by local police authorities.



Officer-in-Charge of Muksudpur Police Station, Abdullah Al Mamun, detailed that the collision occurred when a Khulna-bound truck traveling from Dhaka collided with the pickup van coming from the opposite direction, resulting in critical injuries to Masud Sheikh.



Nearby residents immediately came to the aid of the injured Masud, transporting him to the Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex. However, despite their efforts, the attending doctor pronounced him dead upon arrival.



Upon receiving information about the accident, personnel from Muksudpur Police Station and Bhanga Highway Police Station promptly arrived at the scene, securing the two vehicles involved. The body of the deceased was subsequently handed over to his family following the completion of necessary legal procedures.
