Dhaka: The per capita income in the country has increased to $2,820 in the current fiscal year (FY25), up from $2,738 in the previous fiscal year (FY24). This represents an increase of $82 or Taka 35,109 compared to the previous fiscal year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest provisional figures from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) indicate that the per capita income in the current fiscal year in Taka reached 3,39,211, based on the exchange rate of Taka 120.29 against the US Dollar.
The BBS figures also reveal that the country’s GDP size at current prices amounted to Taka 55,52,753 crore, or $462 billion, in the current fiscal year, compared to Taka 50,02,654 crore, or $450 billion, in the previous fiscal year (FY24).
Additionally, investment, domestic savings, and the national savings ratio to GDP for the current fiscal year reached 29.38 percent, 23.25 percent, and 29.01 percent, respectively.
The BBS provisional figures further show that Bangladesh’s economy grew by 3.97 percent in the current fiscal year, a decrease from 4.22 percent in the previous fiscal year (FY24).
