Dhaka: BNP Chairperson's Adviser and Chief Coordinator of the party's election management committee for the Dhaka-17 constituency, Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam, today emphasized that the people of Dhaka have historically stood against injustice and conspiracy. "Votes of Dhaka's people can never be bought. This will once again be proven in the upcoming election on February 12. This time too, they will vote for democracy, freedom and development," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abdus Salam made these comments during an election rally supporting BNP candidate Hamidur Rahman in the Dhaka-7 constituency. He asserted that the BNP has consistently ensured equal rights for all citizens, regardless of gender. Salam also claimed that certain groups are attempting to mislead the election process but expressed confidence that the people of Dhaka would resist any conspiracies.
He further urged voters to remain vigilant on February 12, stressing that simply casting a vote is not sufficient. He called for continuous vigilance throughout the day to prevent any irregularities or vote rigging.
The BNP leader also highlighted that if Hamidur Rahman, a native of Old Dhaka, is elected, he would play a crucial role in enhancing the development of the area.
