DHAKA, May 21, 2017 (BSS) - Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the people of the country want to see Awami League in power again.
"They want good behaviors from us...If you (AL leaders) behaved roughly with them (common people), they will remember it and that will be reflected in the next election," he said speaking at a view exchange meeting between AL central office secretaries and district office secretaries at a community center in Dhanmondi area of the capital.
AL Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzak, Joint General Secretaries Dr Dipu Moni and Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil and Information and Research Affairs Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, among others, were present.
Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap presided over the meeting while Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua moderated the meeting.
Terming the next election a big challenge, Quader said, "We should remain alert against those who are misbehaving with the common people."
Criticizing BNP's comment on EVM (Electronic Voting Machine), Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said they (BNP) would have to make it clear why the electronic voting system is not acceptable.
Terming Sajeeb Wazed Joy, grandson of Bangabandhu and Information and Communication Technology Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister, as the architect of ICT revolution in the country, Quader said, "We should use EVM in election."
Later, Center for Research Information, an institution of Awami Research Cell, organized a workshop for the office secretaries.
