Dhaka:The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has recommended the preparation of authentic lists of martyred freedom fighters and freedom fighters by the ministry.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the committee also suggested necessary measures to arrange treatment abroad for injured July warriors on a priority and phased basis. These recommendations were made during the committee's second meeting, chaired by Md Manirul Haque Chowdhury at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting and discussed the ministry's key activities over the past six months, along with the progress in their implementation. It emphasized the importance of genuine freedom fighters receiving necessary benefits and facilities through the Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust.
Additionally, the committee advised on steps to maintain the functionality of the Muktijoddha Sangsad to ensure its active role in national politics. It also highlighted the need to accurately present the history of the Liberation War and to ensure that freedom fighters and July warriors are accorded the respect they deserve.
The meeting was attended by members of the committee, including Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ahmed Aazam Khan, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain, MPs Md Abdul Hannan and Rokeya Begum, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.
