Gaibandha: A new infrastructure project named PALKI (Producers' Assembly Learning Kinfolk) is being constructed at Hazarihat (Kani Charitabari) village in Horipur Union, Sundarganj Upazila, to support char dwellers in the region.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the project is implemented by SKS Foundation under the Prodipto Project funded by CARE Bangladesh. The facility is designed to serve as a marketplace for local farmers and a service center for the residents. The initiative aims to enhance the socio-economic conditions of char communities by offering a platform for selling agricultural produce and accessing essential services from both government and non-government providers.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was recently signed between SKS Foundation and the local government. Md. Mozaharul Islam, Chairman of Horipur Union Parishad, signed on behalf of the union. Joglur Rajib, Program Manager of CARE Bangladesh, and the Deputy Director of SKS Foundation signed for their respective organizations. The signing ceremony was attended by local officials, public representatives, and community members.
