Dhaka: Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef S.Y. Ramadan today paid a courtesy call on Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Supreme Court. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring the judicial systems of both countries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam stated that discussions during the meeting revolved around the development of bilateral relations and the judicial systems in Palestine and Bangladesh. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed shared the various initiatives undertaken for advancing Bangladesh's judiciary over the past year. He emphasized plans to establish an independent and robust judiciary while reiterating Bangladesh's unwavering support for the State of Palestine and its people.
The Palestinian envoy commended the steps taken by the Chief Justice, particularly his announcement of a judicial reform roadmap aimed at developing a strong, independent, and impartial judiciary. Yousef S.Y. Ramadan expressed optimism that the leadership of Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed would significantly contribute to promoting good governance and ensuring justice in Bangladesh.
The Palestinian ambassador also conveyed gratitude for the steadfast support of Bangladesh's people for Palestine, highlighting the importance of such solidarity in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
