Over 700 distressed people get food support in Rajshahi

More than 700 distressed and other low-income

people were given food support in the city today aimed at mitigating their

sufferings during the current situation.

Each of the beneficiaries was given a food packet containing five kilograms

(Kgs) of rice, two-kg of flour, one-kg of potato and 500 grams of pulse and

edible oil each.

At the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mayor of Rajshahi City

Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton distributed the food aid at Shaheb Bazar

Zero Point this afternoon.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton, who is also a presidium member of

Bangladesh Awami league(AL), said the low-income people have been facing

crises due to the created situation caused by the nationwide anarchy and

violence.

So, they stood beside the affected people at the direction of Prime Minister

Sheikh Hasina, he added.

Liton also said their food support distribution will continue until the

normal situation is returned back.

Local lawmaker Shafiqur Rahman, city AL President Muhammad Ali
Kamal, its

General Secretary Dablu Sarker and Vice-presidents Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh

and Rezaul Islam were present, among others, on the occasion.
