Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, held a meeting on Monday.
During the meeting held at Office of the Energy Minister at Singha Durbar, various dimensions of Nepal-China relations were discussed.
On the occasion, Minister Khadka thanked the Chinese government for reopening the border checkpoints, which were closed since the COVID-19 pandemic.
He shared that Nepal looked forward to receiving grant assistance not loan from China. The Minister stressed, “I hoped that environment conducive to enter China using citizenship card to facilitate the living standard of people living at bordering areas would be established.”
Similarly, the Chinese Ambassador expressed commitment for the development of energy sector as the sector is significant and indispensable for the development of Nepal.
He mentioned that he was hopeful that the coalition government formed by two largest parties would accelerate development of Nepal.
