Over 5.27 Lakh Children Targeted for Typhoid Vaccination in Faridpur

Faridpur: A total of 5,27,988 children will be targeted for typhoid vaccination in nine upazilas of Faridpur district. This initiative was announced during a district-level consultation meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan Mollah as the chief guest, with district senior information officer Mozammel Hossain presiding over it. Other notable attendees included Civil Surgeon Mahmudul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police Azmir Hossain, UNICEF Barishal Division Chief Anwar Hossain, and Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office Al Amin Sarwar.



The vaccination campaign, part of the government’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), is set to commence on October 12. It aims to administer one dose of the typhoid vaccine to children aged 9 months to 15 years, including students from pre-primary to grade 9. However, children exhibiting fever symptoms will not receive the vaccine until they have fully recovered.
