Dhaka: The Supreme Court has announced that it will deliver its order on Sunday, June 29, regarding the review petition challenging the contentious gazette on service disciplinary rules for lower court judges.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed scheduled the date for the order following a review hearing. The legal proceedings saw Lawyer Mohammad Shishir Manir advocating for the review petition, while Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman represented the state.
Previously, the former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar (SK) Sinha had expressed objections to the rule, resulting in the gazette being returned to the law ministry prior to its publication.
