Order not to take decisions with long-term implications

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order in the name of the concerned not to take any decision that will have a long-term impact on the dispute over the appointment of the Chief Minister in Koshi province.

A single bench of Judge Sapana Pradhan Malla handed down the interim order today, that calls for a halt in any decision of long-term impact until the case is finalized.

The order was handed down after the first hearing on the writ petition filed by the outgoing Chief Minister Hikmat Bahadur Karki. The court has scheduled a hearing on July 23 to discuss the dispute.
