Ongoing Workers’ Grievances to Be Solved Logically: Sakhawat.

Dhaka: Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (rtd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain today announced that ongoing workers’ grievances occurring at various locations nationwide will be addressed through logical measures. He made this statement during a view exchange meeting with ministry officers held in the city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sakhawat urged workers not to cause public disturbances and to return to their respective workplaces. He assured them by stating, “Keep trust on us. We can feel your pain. You will definitely get your dues.” Furthermore, he called upon factory owners to ensure that workers’ dues are paid in full, emphasizing the importance of the workers’ contributions to the operation of the factories.

Additionally, Sakhawat highlighted the necessity of implementing the minimum wages announced by the government across all factories. He warned that legal action would be initiated against any failure to adhere to the wage board directives. He also mentioned that an administrat
or would be appointed to address any problems identified with factory owners.

The adviser proposed the formation of a committee based on clusters to investigate and resolve the causes of labor dissatisfaction. This committee would maintain continuous monitoring of factory owners. He stressed the importance of working with transparency and honesty for the welfare of workers and the national interest.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the ministry, AHM Shafiquzzaman, along with other high-ranking officials.
