Gopalganj: A man was killed in a road accident in the Tilchhara area under Kashiani upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Binoy Krishna Biswas, 54, son of late Robin Biswas, a resident of Ghrikandi village under Bethuri union of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 9:30 am when an unidentified vehicle hit Binoy while he was walking along the highway on his way to work. Critically injured, Binoy was taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Sergeant Md. Abdur Gaffar of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station confirmed the incident. Police are trying to identify the vehicle involved in the accident, and further legal action is being taken in this regard.
