One Held with Huge Drugs in Gaibandha

Gaibandha: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in a drive detained a presumed drug trader with a large quantity of drugs from Dariyapur Bazaar under Sadar upazila in Gaibandha district on Tuesday night. The detainee was identified as Md Mashiur Rahman, son of Md Joynal Abedin of Kuthi Poradanga village in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seized drugs include 2,300 pieces of Yaba tablets and 125 bottles of phensedyl. This was confirmed by a press release issued by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13, Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem. The operation followed a tip-off, prompting an operational team from Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 of RAB-13 to set up a check post at Dariyapur Bazaar. They searched a motorcycle used by Mashiur Rahman and detained him with the contraband at 11:10 pm.

The elite force has since handed over the arrested individual to Gaibandha Sadar police station for further legal action, as mentioned in the press release.
