Dinajpur: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted a drive in the Sadar upazila frontier area last night, resulting in the arrest of an alleged drug peddler with a large quantity of drugs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individual was identified as M Warez Uddin, a 35-year-old resident of Kamalpur village in the upazila. Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted the operation around 11 pm, apprehending Warez Uddin with various narcotics, including intoxication tablets, phensidyl, and foreign liquor. ABM Zahidul Karim, commander of Phulbari BGB 29 Battalion, confirmed the arrest and the seizure of the drugs.
The confiscated items included 10,466 pieces of intoxication tablets, 25 bottles of phensidyl, and 100 bottles of foreign liquor. Additionally, a motorcycle, cash taka, and a mobile phone were seized during the operation. Following the arrest, a case was filed with Dinajpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station. The apprehended man, along with the seized narcotics and other items, was handed over to the police for further investigation.
