Dhaka: Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur today said that the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming national parliamentary election has dissipated following the Chief Adviser's address to the nation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nur applauded the Chief Adviser for giving due importance to everyone's opinions in implementing the July Charter. He expressed these views while reacting to the Chief Adviser's speech at his party's central office in Bijoynagar, Dhaka.
Nur emphasized that the interim government is on the right track regarding the upcoming election, though he warned that divisions among political parties could thwart the polls. He remarked, "In the current circumstances, holding the election and the referendum on the same day is realistic."
He further urged all political parties to remain united concerning the February election. Discussing the future political landscape, Nur announced that his party would campaign in support of the July Charter, highlighting its necessity for the legitimacy of the Mass Uprising and the construction of a new Bangladesh.
In preparation for the upcoming polls, Gono Odhikar Parishad declared plans to field candidates in all 300 constituencies.
