Khulna: Food and Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar emphasized today that the citizens are the true proprietors of the nation, asserting that only they will decide the ‘managers’ to govern the state in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election set for February 12. During the election, voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots on two distinct papers-one for electing members of parliament and the other for a referendum, as stated by the adviser at a public awareness campaign on the referendum held at Shaheed Hadis Park in the city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ali Imam Majumdar highlighted the significant contributions and sacrifices made by participants in the 2024 July Mass Uprising, recognizing their efforts to administer the country in a novel manner beyond conventional practices. In alignment with this vision, the July National Charter 2025 was devised by consolidating suggestions from various reform commissions to transform the existing political culture.

Ali Imam Majumdar called for public backing to construct a “New Bangladesh,” urging voters to support the referendum by casting a ‘Yes’ vote to acknowledge the charter. The programme was presided over by Divisional Commissioner Md Mokhtar Ahmed, with Khulna Range DIG Md Rezaul Haque, Superintendent of Police Md Mahbubur Rahman, and Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Md Rashidul Islam Khan addressing the gathering as special guests.

The welcome speech was delivered by Assistant Information Officer of Khulna Divisional District Information Office Tarun Kumar Mondal. The event was attended by officials and employees from various district offices, along with individuals from all societal sectors. Additionally, awareness videos encouraging participation in the 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum were showcased using campaign vehicles during the event.
