No Security Threats Detected for Upcoming Durga Puja Celebrations: Home Adviser

Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today assured the public that there are no security threats associated with the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, the most significant religious festival for the Hindu community.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser made these remarks during a visit to Ramkrishna Mission, Mission Para Puja Mandap, Narayanganj. He emphasized that each puja mandap across the country will be secured by eight Ansar personnel and seven volunteers from the respective puja celebration committees.



Additionally, 80,000 volunteers from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs will be deployed to the puja mandaps, and each site will be equipped with CCTV cameras to ensure continuous security surveillance. The government’s security forces, including police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and military personnel, will be in position from September 24 to oversee the smooth and peaceful conduct of the celebrations.



The Home Adviser reassured the community, stating, “So, there is no security concern. Durga Puja will be celebrated this year with due religious fervor, sanctity, and festivity.”
