Dhaka: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu today affirmed that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to ensuring that no individual remains homeless or neglected in the country. The minister emphasized the government’s dedication to the welfare of helpless and underprivileged individuals through the expansion of social safety nets and humanitarian assistance programs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Dulu made these comments during a ceremony where he handed over a house to three destitute siblings at the DC Park residential area in the district town. The initiative was prompted by local discussions about the family’s dire situation. This act of assistance is part of a broader governmental effort to provide support to those most in need.
In addition to housing, the minister announced measures to promote female education, including the distribution of bicycles to school-going female students. School uniforms, bags, and shoes will also be provided to students as part of this initiative. These steps aim to remove barriers to education for girls and support their continued learning.
The minister’s visit also included the distribution of 30 kg of rice to distressed families, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing food security issues. To mark the occasion, Minister Dulu planted a fruit tree in front of the newly gifted house, symbolizing growth and hope for the future.
