Jhenaidah: Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman today confirmed there is no legal barrier to implementing the July Charter and that its execution can proceed in accordance with the recommendations of the National Consensus Commission. He made these remarks during a discussion with journalists at the Johan Dream Valley Park Auditorium in Jhenaidah this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Attorney General criticized the previous Awami League regime, stating that all constitutional institutions in the country were rendered ineffective during their tenure. He assured that officials who were not involved in any significant misconduct while serving under the prior administration would continue to serve the country and the state. He further asserted that legal action would be taken against those who committed crimes under political orders during that period.
The event also featured a meeting organized by the Jhenaidah Journalist Forum, Dhaka, which commenced at 10:00 am. The meeting was chaired by Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Kajal and moderated by Vice President Asif Iqbal Makhon and General Secretary Aminul Islam Liton. Prominent attendees included District BNP President Advocate MA Majid, Jhenaidah Journalists Association, Dhaka President Mehedi Hasan Palash, General Secretary Shahnaz Begum Poli, Organizing Secretary Shahnewaz Khan Sumon, Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce President Md Moazzem Hossain, and District Shop Owners’ Association President Anwarul Islam Badsha, among others.
