Dhaka: Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan expressed deep grief at the death of veteran Language Movement activist Ahmed Rafiq. In a condolence message issued today, the VC said Ahmed Rafiq played a pivotal role in the historic Language Movement and the nation will forever remember his contributions with deep respect.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ahmed Rafiq authored over a hundred books, including works on the Language Movement, poetry, and essays. His writings will continue to inspire the younger generation. The Vice-Chancellor sought eternal peace for the departed soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Ahmed Rafiq passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
