Sakhipur: Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan today assured the public that there is no shortage of fuel oil in the country, attributing rising prices to a section of dishonest businessmen. These individuals are allegedly trying to create an artificial crisis by inflating the prices of petrol, octane, diesel, and edible oil to gain extra profit.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister addressed these concerns while responding to journalists during an Eid greeting exchange program with officials from various government offices and freedom fighters in Sakhipur upazila. Azam Khan emphasized that the government will not tolerate such dishonest activities aimed at manipulating the market and creating unnecessary panic.
He further reassured vehicle operators that there is no reason for concern regarding fuel availability. His statements aimed to quell fears of a potential fuel shortage amidst the manipulated price hike reports.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Sakhipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Rony, Officer-in-Charge of Sakhipur Police Station Helal Uddin, Acting President of Sakhipur Upazila BNP Nazim Uddin Master, Acting General Secretary Kabir Hossain, freedom fighter Shahjahan Saju, former BNP president Khorshed Alam Master, former municipal mayor Sanwar Hossain Sajib, and leaders and activists from various BNP affiliated organizations.
