Dhaka: Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today warned that no one will be spared if their involvement with criminal activities is found. “The law applies equally to everyone. No criminal will be shown clemency,” he told reporters during his visit to the National Eidgah ground in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jahangir stated that there are no security gaps anywhere in the country ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, as adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and safe celebration. He urged citizens to file complaints at their respective police stations if any incident or accident occurs, assuring that action will be taken against police stations that refuse to register cases.
The Adviser also announced the launch of online GD activities in Sylhet metropolis as a pilot project, with plans to extend this service to allow online case filings. This initiative aims to enable people to file GDs or cases from home, as the government works towards ensuring access to legal services from people’s homes.
Earlier in the day, the Home Adviser visited the Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the capital.
