Dhaka: Renowned cardiologist and Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) Vice President Dr Zubaida Rahman emphasized that no child or teenager in Bangladesh's vast landscape of 90,000 villages should be left behind due to neglect.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Dr Zubaida made these remarks during a programme at Blue Sky BAF School for Special Children. She highlighted the importance of a proper education system, mental and physical wellbeing, and opportunities for children to play and spend time in natural settings. She stressed the necessity of ensuring medical treatment for any illnesses children might face and urged society to create these opportunities.
Dr Zubaida further expressed that children are cherished not only by their families but also as valuable members of society and the state. During her visit to the school, she was reminded that aspirations should know no bounds, likening the open sky to the limitless potential of children. She encouraged children and teenagers to pursue their ambitions, as they hold the potential to become the builders of the future nation.
Moreover, Dr Zubaida mentioned the establishment of the Shishu Academy aimed at developing children's abilities, alongside initiatives like free education for girls and cultural and sports competitions such as the 'Notun Kuri' programme. She emphasized that children have dreams as vast as the sky and urged them to move forward with determination, supported by their families and society.
Reflecting on a cultural programme at the school, Dr Zubaida praised the children's performances, attributing their success to proper training. She expressed gratitude towards the young participants, envisioning them as future shining stars who will enhance Bangladesh's image.
Furthermore, Dr Zubaida acknowledged the significant role of the Bangladesh Air Force Women's Welfare Association in empowering women through training in fine arts, highlighting this as an innovative effort towards the advancement of women in the country.
